My Childhood Memories
Inspiration for My Childhood Memories
This painting portrays my fondest childhood memories. I grew up in a household of 5 children which made for quite the exiting childhood, I was blessed with all my siblings and they helped form the foundation of who I am. The elements in this painting are sources of nostalgia for me. This painting has been made in commemoration of my beautiful childhood.
The boat in the center of the work comes from a “boat” in the playground where we always played. Just above the boat is a Coca Cola cap symbolizing the glass bottles of coke we used to drink as children. I used to collect stamps, hence the stamp in the top right corner. This stamp is an element I often bring into paintings.
Description of the Work
The work is done in a playful color palette of red, teal, and ochre, tying together with the playful nostalgia brought upon one from childhood memories.
The colourful palette will look stunning against a neutral wall, or framed in a large earthy-toned frame, displayed with a collection of vintage collectables.
